The International Youth Forum ‘Eurasia Global’ in Orenburg is over

The International Youth Forum ‘Eurasia Global’, held on August 12-17, brought together 800 representatives of the world's youth from 108 countries and 80 regions of Russia. Today, August 17, the official Closing of the Forum took place in Orenburg.

This year the program of the Forum ‘Eurasia Global’ included several blocks: business, cultural and leisure. Implementation of 100 thematic platforms took place on the principle of maximum interactivity and involvement of participants in all program activities and events.

Welcoming the participants of the ‘Eurasia Global’ Pavel Samsonov, acting Vice-Governor – Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Orenburg region for social policy, said: ‘Orenburg is proud to become the capital of youth life of the Planet. I think you will take only pleasant impressions and new contacts with you. We are looking forward to seeing you again’.

Dmitry Ivanov, Director of the Forum ‘Eurasia GlobaI’, the Head of the International Department of the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs, expressed confidence that during this week the participants learned a lot, found real friends from all over the world, and also felt the Orenburg hospitality. ‘This Forum is just the beginning: the beginning of a strong friendship, joint projects and new ideas aimed to make our world a better place’, – said Dmitry Ivanov.

The business part included panel discussions, interviews, as well as dialogues with invited guests. During each day thematic platforms worked in different directions: from discussion of economy and business of Eurasia, breakthrough in technologies and receiving skills of effective communication and management of human resources to social design, culture, art and creativity, and new media.

Speakers and guests were 150 people, among them were Maria Zakharova, the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the RF, Director of the Department of Information and Press of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the RF, Denis Pasler, acting Governor of the Orenburg region; Pavel Samsonov, acting Vice-Governor – Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Orenburg region for social policy; Alexander Bugaev, the Head of the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs; Oleg Dimov, acting Vice-Governor of the Orenburg region.

During the meeting with Maria Zakharova, the young leaders of public opinion together with the speaker discussed the issues of modern foreign policy of Russia. According to the guest, this Forum is ‘a unique diplomatic platform for strengthening international relations, as well as a universal format for the interaction of young people from different countries who are interested in foreign policy’.

In their turn, Alexander Bugaev and Oleg Dimov considered international youth cooperation as a mechanism for ensuring global peace and stability.

‘The most promising areas of international youth cooperation are volunteering, patriotic education, bilateral youth exchanges’, – emphasized Alexander Bugaev.

For the first time this year, not only invited guests were the speakers, but also the participants, who considered themselves experts in a certain field of knowledge. For the second communication, a special format was introduced – "Program 2.0". Every participant presenting a project, a theme or an idea was able to fill out an application, and after the selection to speak to other participants. In total, 120 original proposals for the Program 2.0 were submitted during the Forum.

Public protection of projects in the framework of the Grant competition of youth initiatives of Rosmolodezh was held for Russian participants at the Forum. In total, 70 applications were submitted from all over the country, presented in all 9 areas of the competition. The winners were 12 people from 11 territory subjects of the Russian Federation, their ideas were recommended for support for a total amount of 4.5 million rubles.

For foreign participants, the Alexander Gorchakov Public Diplomacy Support Fund organized a Grant competition for youth projects. More than 100 applications were submitted, the geography of projects – 24 countries. The winners were 9 people from 9 countries, their ideas were recommended for support for a total amount of 2.4 million rubles.

‘Eurasia Global’ is the only forum where both Russian and foreign participants can take part in grant competitions.

Vera Alkash from Turkey shared her impressions of the Forum: ‘I liked the Forum very much, it has become an excellent platform for acquiring new contacts. I have made several agreements with young people from other countries on joint projects’.

Sarmat Gusalov from the Republic of North Ossetia — Alania said: ‘I really liked the Forum, especially the media meetings of the day. It is a pity that I did not have time to visit all the educational sites, because there were so many of them. I'm sure everyone has found a section to their liking.’

The International Youth Forum ‘Eurasia Global’ is held for the fourth time and is one of the six forum platforms, which on behalf of the President of the Russian Federation is assigned the Federal status.

The forum is organized by the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs, the Government of the Orenburg region, and the Federal State Budgetary Institution Resource Youth Center.
