Gorchakov Fund at ‘Eurasia Global’ supported projects from nine countries

On August 16, at the International Youth Forum ‘Eurasia Global’, which brought together 800 young people from around the world, a public presentation of the projects of the grant competition of the Public Diplomacy Support Fund named after Gorchakov was held.

Among the participants, 500 are citizens of foreign countries and compatriots living abroad. These are leaders of public opinion, young specialists and professionals working in the field of international youth cooperation. They represent foreign youth from more than 100 countries, which makes the Forum unique.

For the first time in the history of the Forum there are young delegates from such countries as Myanmar, Nigeria, Zimbabwe, Pakistan, Brazil, the Republic of South Africa and others.

The Gorchakov Foundation held a grant competition for foreign participants at the Forum, in the framework of which nine best projects were supported for their implementation in nine countries: Kazakhstan, Armenia, India, Croatia, Kyrgyzstan, Serbia, Great Britain, Afghanistan, and southeast Ukraine. The total amount of the grant competition amounted to 2 million 400 thousand rubles: one grant in the amount of 500,000 rubles, three grants of 300,000 rubles and five grants of 200,000 rubles each.

The competition commission included leading international experts, representatives of executive authorities and international youth organizations. To better protect the project on the sidelines of the forum, trainings and master classes were provided with experts in the field of international relations and representatives of non-profit organizations.

More than 100 applications have been submitted to the competition. About 33 ideas were admitted to face-to-face presentation. The geography of projects covers 24 countries.

‘The Fund will work exclusively with each of the winners, since the Fund’s task is to provide not only financial, but also informational and expert support to project managers’, – noted the organizers of the competition.

The International Youth Forum ‘Eurasia Global’ is an annual international communication platform for dialogue between youth organizations and individual young foreign citizens focused on interaction and cooperation with Russian youth.

The International Youth Forum ‘Eurasia Global’ is held for the fourth time and is one of six forum sites for which, on behalf of the President of the Russian Federation, federal status has been assigned.

The organizers of the Forum are the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs, the Government of the Orenburg Region, the Federal State Budgetary Institution Resource Youth Center.
